Contract: Permanent Full Time
Hours: 37.5 hours, Monday – Sunday (some weekend work required and occasional out of hours work may be required with a Time off in Lieu system operated).
Based at: Riverside, Langford Lakes Nature Reserve with daily travel to sites within central and southern Wiltshire and occasional travel to sites in north Wiltshire.
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust manages some of the most important sites for wildlife in the country, helping to deliver nature recovery across Wiltshire through practical conservation management. Our nature reserves provide vital habitats for wildlife and inspiring places where people can connect with nature.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and practical Assistant Estates & Grazing Officer to join our Conservation and Land Management Team. Working alongside the Estate Officer South and Grazing Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our nature reserves, supporting conservation grazing operations and ensuring our land, infrastructure and equipment are managed to the highest standards.
This is a varied, hands-on role that combines livestock husbandry, with estate management and habitat restoration. You will help deliver annual work programmes across our reserves, undertake practical countryside management tasks, support cattle grazing operations, maintain tools, machinery and infrastructure, and contribute to ensuring our sites remain safe, welcoming and accessible for visitors.
The role also includes working with volunteers, supporting livestock movements and daily husbandry, carrying out estate maintenance, and helping to deliver projects that contribute directly to wildlife recovery across Wiltshire. No two days are the same, and the successful candidate will enjoy working outdoors, tackling practical challenges and making a tangible difference for nature.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in conservation, countryside management or agriculture who has a passion for wildlife, practical land management and conservation grazing.
