Role: Head of Maintenance Ops
Salary: £25 per hour with a possibility of turning the role into PAYE if that is right for us both.
Location: Based within South London
Expected Hours of Work: Flexible but approx 3/4 days per week (some in gardens)
Reporting to: Seonaid Royall as operations director.

Sprout Up (www.sproutup.co.uk) is a fast-growing garden design and maintenance company, run by Seonaid Royall in South London.
We maintain gardens to a high standard, working with plants and horticultural knowledge to get the best out of each garden. We are personable and listen to our clients needs, working with them to make their lives and gardens better.
Our mission is to help local people enjoy their outdoor spaces more through advice, maintenance and design.
The Role:
We are looking for a head of maintenance operations to take over some of the responsibilities from Seonaid Royall on a flexible part time basis. Working either on their own or part of a team.
Specifically, we’re looking for someone who is confident, enthusiastic and with a can-do attitude. Most importantly, you’ll be keen to expand Sprout Up.
You’ll have both a strong sense of duty and a strong sense of fun – adopting a relentlessly positive attitude and remaining calm, even in challenging situations. For a dedicated Garden Maintenance Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to develop personally and work with a fantastic business in a progressive and creative company.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
● You’ll be the main contact & liaison with clients, this could involve such things as newsletters and Instagram, as well as the day to day emails and phone calls, with the support of an office assistant.
● You’ll support Seonaid to develop new business leads within the aftercare department such as add-ons like planting, bedding, composts, mulching etc.
● You’ll analyse the profits and timesheets – refining and improving profitability.
● You’ll inspect sites regularly and prioritise appropriate works.
● You’ll give technical advice and recommendations to site teams and clients.
● You’ll manage the diary and what workers are required each week as well as keeping it up to date for invoicing purposes.
● Manage risk assessments and safety.
● Assess training requirements & plan training with Seonaid.
● Regular meetings with Seonaid or the office, in person on the phone or online, to communicate day to day issues or successes.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
● You’ll have 5 years of experience in a single site or multi-site maintenance manager role.
● You can work with or learn computer packages such as excel, powerpoint, pinterest, google docs as well as have an understanding of social media and it’s benefits to the business.
● You’ll have a strong track record of delivering first-class customer experience.
● You’ll have an excellent knowledge of plants – diagnosing and treating problems, and knowing how to keep disease under control.
