Forestry England Shadow Ranger Program
Forestry England have just launched their 2022 Shadow Ranger volunteer placement program. These are voluntary roles that offer a unique opportunity to gain experience in the countryside and forestry sector and we would appreciate it if you could help promote this fantastic opportunity to potentially interested people.
Several 6-month placements are available across various forests in Central England and the New Forest. Volunteering 1 – 3 days per week, each placement allows volunteers to develop skills in different works areas such as community, recreation, forest management and events.
The placement will include both formal and informal training along with work-based learning to allow individuals to develop a great range of skills and abilities.

General Volunteering Update
We are restarting our current volunteers across the nation’s forests as COVID-19 restrictions ease but at present new volunteer opportunities are limited. If you are interested in general volunteering with Forestry England the best thing to do is keep an eye on the local forest volunteer webpage you are interested in.
