The Celia Hammond Animal Trust is a registered charity offering low cost veterinary care and a vital rescue and rehoming service in London and the South East.
We are seeking a full time Cat Rehoming Officer to join our friendly, close knit team at our Canning Town Centre.
Job involves
- Daily telephone, video and face to face conversations and interviews with the public regarding animal adoption.
- Carrying out home visit assessments at potential adopters homes/ or via video call to provide advice about adopting and caring for our rescue cats and to assess suitability.
- Introductions between our rescued cats and potential adopters following a successful home assessment.
- Administration - keeping accurate records, adoption paperwork, follow up checks etc.
The successful applicant must:
-be totally dedicated to and passionate about animal welfare
-possess a thorough knowledge of cats
-have a good basic understanding of health matters and feline behaviour
-be able to adapt to the challenges of rehabilitating and rehoming rescued animals
-believe in CHAT's aims and objectives and conscientiously apply them to the rehoming of every individual animal in accordance with CHAT's well established rehoming policies
-be highly organised and self motivated
-have a friendly, polite and patient manner when communicating with members of the public
This position is full time 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be working from our rescue and homing centre in Canning Town 5 days out of 7 including a weekend day and some evening working.
Salary according to experience
You must be a confident driver. A full clean driving licence will be required. A charity vehicle or vehicle allowance will be provided on completion of successful probation
