About the Role

We are looking for an experienced maintenance gardener to join our London-based team, caring for a portfolio of high-quality interior and exterior planting schemes across the city.

This role suits someone who enjoys working efficiently, takes pride in maintaining planting to a high standard, and brings a practical, proactive approach to site work. You will visit a range of regular sites, build familiarity with each planting scheme, and carry out ongoing horticultural care in line with Underleaf’s design intent and standards.

No two weeks are exactly the same, so we are looking for someone reliable, flexible and confident in responding to the day-to-day challenges that come with maintaining living planting schemes in busy environments.

Work is London-based with structured schedules across a variety of client sites. Full-time applicants are preferred, with part-time (4 days per week) considered for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain interior and exterior planting schemes to a consistently high standard.
• Carry out watering, pruning, feeding, repotting and general plant care.
• Monitor plant health and identify pests or diseases early, taking appropriate action.
• Keep planting areas tidy, organised and presentable at all times.
• Communicate clearly with the studio team regarding plant performance and site issues.
• Represent Underleaf professionally while working on client sites.
• Ensure tools, materials and vehicles are cared for and used responsibly.
• Strong practical site skills with an organised and efficient approach to plant maintenance work.
• Able to work with good pace, competence, structure and professionalism while maintaining high horticultural standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on horticultural experience with interior and exterior planting schemes.
• Strong practical plant knowledge and confidence identifying pests and diseases.
• RHS Level 2 or equivalent required.
• Reliable, organised, and comfortable working independently.
• Professional and respectful client-facing manner.
• Full, clean UK driving licence held for at least 2 years, with confidence driving in London.
• Must have UK work authorisation.

What We Offer

• Salary: £30,000–£34,000 per year, depending on experience.
• A full-time role is preferred, but flexibility exists to consider a 4-day part-time arrangement
