Gardener required
I run an established garden maintenance and landscaping business based in North London. I have a record of working in the industry and now work with fellow colleagues on domestic gardens. I’ve spent many years studying and training at Capel Manor. I’m looking to grow my business by taking on additional help to facilitate adding new clients.
Applicant specification
I am looking for a qualified individual or currently learning to level 2. The right candidate should have experience working in the horticultural industry, reliable, flexible, possess a good work ethic and the ability to work independently. A clean driving license and good plant knowledge would be a distinct advantage. Important skills can be learned but good manners and presentation are a pre-requisite.
Job role
• The areas covered are North London, specifically Muswell Hill, Hampstead, Highgate, Islington. The ideal
candidate will live locally or within easy commute to Muswell Hill.
• Typical working hours would be 08.00 to 16.30, although some working days maybe longer or shorter.
• Typical number of hours a week would be 42.5 hours per week (negotiable, based on Part or full time).
• Typical tasks involved in garden maintenance are lawn mowing, weeding, pruning, leaf clearance, pressure washing etc. plus any other additional duties as may be reasonably required.
• The ideal candidate must be physically fit and able to move heavy loads if necessary.
• During the year the ideal candidate would carry out additional tasks, such as planting to plan, transplanting
established plants, hard landscaping installation, autumn lawn care, mulching, irrigation installations, fertilizing, turf laying, soil cultivation etc.
Salary
Hours and salary are negotiable. The options of full time and part time are available, depending on candidates circumstances.
Full time starting salary, £24,490. Based on 42.5 hours per week. Holidays and pension contributions.
The successful part time candidate will initially receive £12.00 per hour; after a probationary period is satisfactorily completed the hourly rate will increase to £13.00 per hour.
