Experienced Head Gardener required
Experienced Head Gardener immediately required to oversee and manage the gardens and grounds of a private small country estate in the Cotswolds (One hundred acres).
Eight acres of mature gardens comprise of herbaceous borders, formal beds, extensive topiary and hedges, orchard, water garden, tennis court and swimming pool.
A new area consisting of kitchen garden/potager with large greenhouse has recently been created providing an opportunity to be part of developing planting schemes.
The successful applicant must have relevant experience, expertise and a strong work ethic. They must be self-motivated with the ability to work alone and manage a team. Pruning techniques, vegetable production, managing herbaceous borders and propagation skills are essential. Extensive use of garden machinery. Spraying Pa1 and chainsaw CS30-31 desirable.
This role would suit someone looking for a long-term position with a passion to create and maintain some very special private grounds. They will be generously supported throughout.
Salary up to £30k depending on experience. Accommodation/utilities included. Applicants must hold a valid driving licence.
